Fargo police honor NDSU shepherd for helping stranded goats
NDSU shepherd Steven “Skip” Anderson on Feb. 26 received a Letter of Recognition from the Fargo Police Department for his assistance with 14 goats and two dogs that became stranded. He was contacted by the police on a frigid day in December when a man transporting the goats through Fargo had a medical emergency. Skip cared for the animals until the owner was well enough to finish his journey. “I felt it was important for us to just jump right in and go care for those animals,” he said.
LaVerne Buzick, the FPD’s community service officer, said, “Skip was truly THE gift to our situation. If he had not been able to help, I truly don’t know what we would have done.” Buzick continued, “I hope NDSU is aware of what a fantastic and caring individual they have in their midst.”
